Pattern Tester Parade – Pine Trip Edition!

Pattern Tester Parade – Pine Trip Edition!

Quilt patterns don’t come to life on their own. They need brave, creative souls to test them out, sew them up, and make sure the instructions actually make sense before they head out into the world. That’s where my amazing pattern testers come in!

These wonderful quilters not only stitched up stunning versions of the new Pine trip pattern, but their feedback also helped refine the pattern – meaning better fabric requirements, less waste, and an overall smoother quilting experience for you! Their incredible sense of color and fabric placement just goes to show how much personality a quilt can have, depending on the fabrics you choose.

So let’s celebrate their amazing work! Make sure to follow them on Instagram for more quilting inspiration. 🥳

Amanda Schart Ingram (@sometimes_shesews)

Amanda is a photographer, and it shows—her photos are stunning! She used solids for the quilt top, pairing them beautifully with the whimsical and colorful Carousel print by Melody Miller for the backing. A perfect blend of playfulness and sophistication. And that big-stitch binding? Adorable!

Natalie King (@sewfabquilting)

Natalie made a baby-sized Pine Trip with Ruby Star Society Speckled in mint, white, and yellow, all on a deep blue background. And that quilting? The swirly white stitches on the dark fabric make me think of Starry Night by Van Gogh. Such a dreamy finish!

Madeline Jensen (@crinkly.and.cozy)

Madeline went bold with primary colors, creating a striking version of Pine Trip. And while you can’t see it in the photos, she backed it with the coziest flannel featuring little trees. A perfect mix of classic and comfy! (And what a location!)

Kathryn Vigness (@kvigness)

Kathryn’s throw-size quilt is a stunning play on emerald green tones, set against a terrazzo-like background. The soft beige in the cross blocks makes them more subtle, letting the trip blocks really pop. Such a cool and modern take!

Aimee Wilson (@sewingscientist)

Aimee mixed green and purple prints for a rich, dynamic look. The purple gradient going from light to dark is chef’s kiss, and the little sparks of turquoise in the trip blocks add just the right amount of energy. Love it! And let's take a moment to appreciate that stunning mural, too.

Rachel Barzee (@rachelsblockparty)

It’s bubble gum time! Rachel’s pastel solids (and a tad of RSS Speckled!) bring a fun, summery feel to Pine Trip—like a pack of bubble gum, but in quilt form. And shoutout to her quilt-holder, who bravely stood near the waves for that perfect quilt-in-the-wild shot. Talk about dedication!

Huge thanks to all my testers! 💙 Your creativity, eye for color, and willingness to dive into a brand-new pattern mean the world to me. Pine Trip wouldn’t be the same without you!
