Knitty rose: Pattern tester parade

Knitty rose: Pattern tester parade

One of my favourite parts of releasing a new quilt pattern is seeing what my testers make. This time I had three wonderful testers for Knitty Rose, and they’ve each made something beautiful and unique.

Madeline Jensen – @crinkly.and.cozy

As usual, Madeline has found the coolest mural for her quilt photos, and it couldn’t be a better match for her desert-themed Knitty Rose. She used just two fabrics — a soft, muted pink with a desert print for the background and a light cream for the rose motif. The result is calm, pretty, and perfectly framed by that mural.

Natalie King – @sewfabquilting

Natalie didn’t just make one Knitty Rose — she made two! Both are in the baby size, both in brown and light pink solids… but with the colours reversed. Why? Because they were for a set of twin babies. I can’t think of a sweeter gift, and the solid fabrics give these quilts such a fresh, modern look.

Two Knitty rose baby quilts in opposite colors: Light pink on dark brown, and dark brown on light pink.

Amanda Schart Ingram – @sometimes_shesews

Amanda really nailed this one! I had provided some ombré colour placement ideas to my testers, and look what Amanda made — an aqua flower with a dark centre gradually fading into lighter petals. It’s definitely a stunner, and now my imagination is running wild with other ombré colour possibilities.

I always love to see what my testers make — thank you so much for bringing this pattern to life! I hope these quilts spark ideas for you too — they sure do for me.
