It’s here! My newest Norwegian knit inspired quilt pattern, Knitty Rose, has just launched, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you. This one has been on my mind for about a year.
The design is inspired by traditional knitting from Selbu, a small area in central Norway known for its beautiful geometric motifs. Knitty Rose is based on one of these stunning Nordic designs — the rose made from eight ram’s horns. Read more about the background and inspiration in this blog post!

Pattern features
Knitty Rose is made entirely from squares, which makes it beginner-friendly but still striking. The size of the squares decides the size of the finished quilt, so you can adapt it to your needs. The pattern also includes instructions for the web piecing method, which keeps all your blocks in order and makes sewing faster.

Sizes included
Baby – 35" x 35" (89 x 89 cm)
Small throw – 53" x 53" (135 x 135 cm)
Large throw – 70" x 70" (178 x 178 cm) - pictured below
Full – 88" x 88" (224 x 224 cm)

Fabric style ideas
Knitty Rose looks beautiful in a limited two-colour palette, but it’s also perfect for using up scraps or your favorite precut bundle. Whether you go bold and modern or keep it soft and traditional, the strong graphic shapes make the design shine.
This beautiful aqua and white version of Knitty rose is by pattern tester Amanda Schart Ingram.
This quilt is part of my series of patterns inspired by Norwegian knitting traditions. I love finding ways to bring these classic motifs from yarn to fabric, keeping the Nordic roots while making something fresh and modern.
